The province of Reggio Calabria, with its rich history and culture, is also famous for its splendid beaches and seaside resorts. In this blog, we will explore some of the most fascinating coastal destinations of the Ionian coast. 1. Annà

From Condofuri Marina, we recommend you visit some villages in the Greek Area of ​​Aspromonte that overlook the Ionian Sea: Condofuri (14km from Condofuri Marina), Amendolea and Gallicianò.

4. Bova Marina

5. Palizzi Marina

- Distance: 28 km

- Description: Beach, Spiaggia dei Pescatori, Scoglio Panettone, the Spropoli Cliff, a walk in the village for an ice cream, a granita or some restaurant. To taste, the red and dry wine Palizzi IGT.

A breathtaking landscape is that of the Calanchi Bianchi di Palizzi, formed by marly limestone mixed with clay and Trubi that have a characteristic white and gray color; they recall the famous rock formations of Cappadocia in Turkey, earning them the nickname of "Little Cappadocia of Calabria". The best times to visit them are during the hours of dawn or dusk, when the light enhances the natural beauty of the white cliffs. The area is also home to unique vegetation, including dwarf ponsai trees that have adapted to the nutrient-poor soil.

Via the Provincial Road 164, 10km away you reach the town of the Grecanica area Palizzi Superiore, with its Castle, Borgo and the hamlet of Pietrapennata.

6. Brancaleone Marina

Brancaleone is also a well-known location for the cultivation of the aromatic jasmine flower, from which the Costa dei Gelsomini takes its name.

Brancaleone Superiore (about 4 km from the seafront) is a small and picturesque medieval village, where you can visit the houses abandoned at the end of the 1950s and admire the surrounding panorama.
